How To Style: Maxi Skirts

Maxi skirts – they come in all colours, wraps and patterns, but they retain that special element that makes you want to wear one all day and night; that long, flowing length.

You can swoosh them around and feel like you’re in a ballgown, or buy a bright  pattern and imagine you’re walking barefoot on the beach. Either way, long skirts are here to stay, so here are a few ways to style them:

LOOK #1

This look is a little, okay – a lot, more dressy than the usual maxi skirt and tank top for the mall combo, but its amazing what you can do with a good quality, black maxi skirt. Here, I’ve just added a pale pink crop top, a charming crystal necklace and super cool ring. To finish I added these gorgeous, dainty nude heels with pink floral accents to match with the top.

LOOK #2

A little more of a casual look, this vibrant bohemian skirt is the star of the outfit. Pair it with a simple, fitted black top, a denim vest and killer heels to add glam to an otherwise simple outfit.

LOOK #3

Back to the fancy, polished look – this time with this lovely, ruffled red skirt. This is the perfect date night or party look, where flair meets class. Add a simple black lace crop top and a cool, small bag with an unexpected but pale shade. Finish off with simple pointed-toe nude heels.

LOOK #4

This is a simple look for a weekend out and/or hanging out with friends on a hot summer day. Ive paired this basic, flowy skirt in this lovely yellow shade with a loose spaghetti-strap tank with a vintage floral pattern. To finish off, I added blue  lace-up flats that tie in with the colour in the floral print and these dainty gold earrings to frame the face.
